I have a Toshiba Satellite running on windows 10.

I Downloaded NOAA Raster charts as PDF files and then used a PDF to JPG convertor to get them in a format that RM will accept.

Everything up through importing one as a background image works great.

When I go to calibrate a intersection of a major lat/long intersection I place the cross hairs, hit enter which brings up the Lat/Long fields for the actual coordinate the cross hairs pointed too.

After entering the correct LAT/LONG I then press the done key.

The cross hairs jump to a different spot. The Calibrate image moves to another spot and the coordinate are changed. When I place the Calibrate Symbol back over the intersection it does not read the correct lat long.

As I continue to work with RM in widows 10 I am getting several symptoms that indicate or has issues or that it is unstable in widows 10. I found when I opened it under compatibility windows indicated it should be run under windows 8I did that and it cleaned most of them up... except the Calibration issue. No surprise, that is what the system requirements state.

Anyone successful with windows 10? Is there a windows 10 version in the works?

TIA

You shouldn't need to run RM in compatibility mode under W10 - we do test under W10 so if you have found some issues that you think are W10 specific then I would be interested to hear about them.

I would strongly recommend that you calibrate images within Google Earth before importing into RM. If you do this, and import via the KML/KMZ file, then RM will split the image into tiles (in an MBTiles database file) which gives much better performance when viewing maps within RM. If you are only looking for GE background image snapshots, then an easy way to generate these is to zoom to your required area within GE, save the image background (in the highest resolution possible) and then immediately add an Image Overlay to GE without moving from your current location. You can then choose your recently exported image file within the overlay properties window and stretch it to fill your current view. This should align the image pretty well (you can vary the overlay opacity to check this). Once done, export the overlay as a KMZ file and import that into RM.
As others have alluded to, there are other ways of acquiring background imagery for RM. What you are looking for is a way to generate MBTiles files, which RM can use directly. Have a search for SAS Planet.

Thanks Matt, I will follow your instructions and see how it comes out.

I will also attempt to document the sequences and events I am experiencing in Windows 10 and get them to you.
