Lots of posts out there on this topic, and some conflicting information.

Would anyone be able to clarify the wiring for Live Feed for a HDS7 Gen 3 please?

NMEA cable (comes attached to the power cord) has 5 wires: Yellow, Blue, Orange, Green, Bare.

In the users manual Lowrance assigns a number to each color.

Do I match the colors to the numbers when creating the DB9 connector? That seems logical based on the manual, but is inconsistent with some posts on this site.

Photos attached, any assistance appreciated!

It is easy to do:
- Yellow on 2
- shield/bare wire on 5

Don't forget to set baudrate in HDS en computer the same!

There is another topic on this forum : reefmaster.com.au/index.php/forum/suppor...-nmea-0183-to-laptop

Best regards,

Thanks Guido!

Follow up question: what do you do with the other 3 wires? Do you need to tape off the ends inside the connector to prevent interference or is it ok to just clip them off and leave bare?

Thanks

What I normally do is clip them off.
