This is my first time on the forum and I only downloaded the trial version tonight.

I recorded a 748 MB sonar log on my HDS Gen 3 unit on the weekend and wanted to use it to trial the software. My problem is the HDS saved the sonar log as a .sl3 file, which Reef Master doesn't seem to recognise.

Am I doing something wrong?

If so what do I need to change?

Are there plans to upgrade the software to read .sl3 files?

At the moment we only support slg and SL2 files, so you need to select theSL2 format before recording on your device.
We hope to come to agreement with Navico that lets us use the new SL3 format, especially since this is now the automatic default for recordings on newer devices.

If you would like to try this particular sonarlog in Reefmaster, you can upload the SL3-file to Insight Genesis and download a GPX file in return. You can import that GPX-file in Reefmaster to get a bathymetric map. (depthcontours only, no bottom composition or sidescanmosaic)

I had same issue today, recorded some files as sl3.

I used one of the tips posted on this forum and works well with HDS Gen3

Play the sl3 file in simulation mode and at same time record the file in sl2 format

Is there an update when Lowrance will allow Reefmaster to use the .SL3 format?
