Don't know what to call it, but I only just noticed the "blue" color that extends beyond the maps shoreline. It shows on my Lowrance too. Maybe it's always been there, maybe I have a setting wrong?

Would love to get rid of it, just for a "finishing touch" to my maps. Possible or just the way it is? Thanks.

That should be clipped - double check that your shorelines are set up correctly, and that you don't have any duplicates.

Yep. That was the problem. One with "Shoreline" checked and another with "Island" checked. I deleted the Island version and that cleared it up. I could swear I've done this once before to this map and not long ago. Anyway, found one of my other maps with the same problem and applied the same fix. Thanks Matt.

All I have to do now is figure out why one of my joined maps, (The second section of a multi section map of a large lake project) doesn't show up on the Lowrance with the same nice palette as the 'section one' map of the project that it connects to. It just shows the contour line with a yellowish/tan back ground.

I suspect that this is a problem with displaying multiple raster images. If you really want to use raster (I always recommend vector), then one way to fix this issue is to export all of your raster map backgrounds separately, put them in one folder (with associated KML files) and run the IMC raster process by hand on that folder. You can then have a single raster layer and all of your vector map segments will show on top (these you can continue to export separately, directly from RM).

OK... I see how to "Export Background Raster" by right clicking on the map it self. I guess I'd create a folder to export it to.

Associated KML files? I can't seem to find those. I have a kmz file for my shoreline background. (And if you'll remember, that's a shoreline for the entire large lake) That what you mean? Update: Figure this part out. The learning curve continues!

As for vector, maybe it's just me, but my maps, and there are 5 different lakes on one SD card so far, (each with their own 'renamed' Shaded Relief folder and renamed at5 and xml files) look great (on the Lowrance) in raster but lousy in Vector. It's kind of like the difference between a regular TV and a HD TV. I'd hate to have to lose that.

Is there a section in the "Open Reference Manual" that gives a step by step on how to do this?
