I am using ReefMaster 1.8 to process Lowrance HDS-7 SL2 files including sidescan. On several projects, I have gotten into a state where the Regenerate button does not result in contour chart regeneration. On a working project, the 'generating model' progress bar in the lower left updates during regeneration. In 'broken' projects, this is unchanging, just showing 'generating model '[project name]' complete'. I cannot seem to recover a project from this state. I am concerned, because recreating complex projects of many tracks would be arduous.

One way to reproduce a condition that looks like the failure mode is to delete all the Tracks from a Project via Edit >Tracks >Component Tracks. Note the contours still appear even without any Tracks. Adding the Tracks back in does not restore proper regeneration.

Any help is appreciated!

That's a strange one. So even if you do something to change the project, like add/remove a track, the regenerate button doesn't work? It the button enabled? If it is, then my guess is that something bad is happening early in the generate process. It would be very useful to take a look at your workspace to try and determine what is going on. Any chance you could zip it up and share via a file sharing service, sending the link to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. ?

Matt,

I created a project 'broken_project' with a single Track. All was well. Then I removed the Track. Data from the Track was still visible in Contours. I closed ReefMaster and reopened this project. The data is gone. Then, I added the Track using Contour > Edit > Add Tracks. Contours no longer regenerate. I cannot seem to recover from this condition. Changing Edit params (e.g. smoothing) results in active Regenerate button, but no actual regeneration.

Although I can avoid deleting all tracks from a project, I came across this failure to regenerate problem after deleting a track from a multi-track project.

Thanks

Hi,
I think the issue might be that you don't have a map area defined. When you removed the track, this might have been nullified. Try going to the Define Map view, selecting the Define Map Area tool (outlined in the image below). When you draw a rectangle around the area that you want to map, the map will generate. It worked OK when I tried this on your workspace, but please let me know if this does not resolve the issue. You should always have a rectangle with "drag" handles in the corner overlaid on your tracks and boundaries in the define map view. If this isn't there, then a map area hasn't been defined.

That seems to fix it! Thank you for your prompt reply.
