@kvdc, have you already figured out how to export boundaries from JOSM?
I'm using the following steps to do this:
1 Create a new layer in JOSM and save it as osm file. And choose OpenStreetMap Carto for imagery.
2 Download the water as object (Ctrl+shift+o) in JOSM. The water id can be found while editing in
www.openstreetmap.org/. This is either a way or relation.
3 When adding multiple water id's, make sure you don't download them as separate layer.
4 Select the area's that are adjacent to each other. Use the function "Join overlapping Areas" under tools to make one multipolygon.
5 Export the *.osm file to GPX. Import this in RM for your boundaries.
This saves me a lot of time!
You have to keep in mind that RM only can have one shoreline. When editing the *.osm file this can be tricky, especially with large water systems (vooral hier met al die polders...:-) ) When you have an island in your *.osm project you can make them separate (a new layer & *.osm) and then import them as island in RM.
If waters are not adjacent to each other because of a bridge, draw notes so they are connected. Then select en join them.
