Is there a way to change the color of the track points while in Define Map View? A choice of pallets maybe?

In shallow water it used to be different shades or red, which made it easy to spot track points that needed to be cleaned up. There are shades of blue now making it really hard to spot odd ball track points.

Yes. Hit the cog in the menu on the left, there you can change the standard colour for your tracks and for you map.

Another trick, if you are trying to find bad track-points, is to adjust the depth slider under the "tracks" section of the project edit panel. This changes the min/max depths that are used to calculate the depth colours, so you can play with these values to get a greater difference between track-point colours (note - don't press the filter button unless you want to delete all track-points outside of the selected depth range!).

Here's an example using the depth range sliders to show-up differences in track-point depths:

The first picture shows a sea of red, because this is a shallow area and elsewhere in the project there are much deeper areas. It's not easy to see if you have any bad points here:



After adjusting the depth range so that the lower depth is only 8.5m or so, differences between track-point depths in this shallow area are much easier to see:
