Anyone knows how to get water depth map from side scan image? Or we have to interpolate from way points? I only have one track along the river with side scanning. When I use ReefMaster to map, I can only see one line with multiple points along the river, showing boat locations.

The sidescan channel doesn't actually provide any extra depth information - it only provides depth underneath the boat, in the same way as 2D sonar.

SideScan has one to few elements in the ducer to provide depth. And even with SS 3D (which has that extra element) any sort of depth-data from the SideScan will be pretty close to an "educated guess" rather then reliable info. To many variables when you don't have control over pitch/roll/ heave.

From what source? :)
From 2D (regular sonar) it would be a ducer with a narrow coneangle. Airmar P66 is pretty good, TM260 is very good. In most cases 200 kHz would be the best frequenzy (although somewhat dependent on the ducer used), auto depth or manual depth set well under actual depth for full bottom-composition.
