Hi,
I'm new to the program but managed to create several small user map 'pieces' today for upload to my HDS Gen 2 unit. They worked great!
It was a lot of work to create each map and I can't seem to figure out how to amalgamate them into one user map file. My lake is 114,000 acres
and I don't want to have to redo the entire process every time I map a new area. Also, when I think I'm saving multiple user maps to my SD card, it seems only the last uploaded file appears on the HDS unit. Am I over writing the other maps I've saved to the SD card? Can I save them separately or do I actually need to create one big file for my lake? I'm using the latest version of Reef Master. Just bought it yesterday.

There's a couple of ways you can do it. The easiest is probably to export each project directly, and then store the resulting map files in separate folders on your SD card (you need to do this because the map files share the same name). Most recent Lowrance units will pick up all of these maps and display them together. Note, though, that this approach won't work with raster maps (e.g. shaded relief), but should work well with vector only maps.
Another possibility is that you add the components from each of your map to one or more user maps. You can then either export the single user map to create a single map file, or group-select a set of user maps in the asset list and export that way - this will also give you a single map file.

Your option A seemed to be the way to go for now!
Another question to expedite the user map making process....can I create my own user color palette to add to the palettes already
included on the Project page? This is the most time-consuming aspect of my process so far. I'm obviously incorporating all AT5 colors
for use with my HDS 2 units.

Another way i have been getting it to work with sidescan mosiacs is copy you main shaded relief file to you storage area or SD Card. Click on shaded relief to view the AT5 files. Then get your next map shaded relief file click inside it and copy and past the AT5 files into the original. It will prompt you if you would like to keep both files since they are named the same and click yes. It will asign each file at number after the file. I continue doing this until i have all my maps under one shaded relief folder. Has worked everytime for me. Also is you have the newest version 5.0 for the touch screens you can put multiple maps of the same area and the photo transparency will let you switch from one map to the other.
