So i just set up a NMEA network, and have a question regarding, the terminators, i
was wondering, why they want a terminator in both ends, seen several pictures of networks, where they use one end of the "back bone" to the power supply or attaching a unit. and if two terminators are required could i place the 2 one in an other terminal, as i would like to run the HDS through the end of the backbone.

Just wondering if there is something i am missing?

You are missing something. :)
You need one T-connector and one dropcable for each thing you connect to the network. Do not put your HDS at the end, that is just asking for trouble.
