We are buying Simrad evo2 nss12 + 3d structurescan for side-scan use.
Do we need "normal" transduser, if we want to use reefmaster - side scan mosaic etc. or is 3d structurescan enought?

If you can record your sidescan data in the SL2 format (not SL3), then you should be able to use it within ReefMaster. I believe that should be possible, but I cannot confirm it.

You should get a normal 2D-ducer as well. Structurescan alone is not very stable at showing depth.
You can record in SL2. :)

Have you use 3d structurescan ( team colibri)? Has it been nice?
We are buying side-scan sonar to our search and rescue boat.
We are looking for best picture quality. It is also important to have a good computer software like reefmaster.

No, the ice has been blocking me from testing it. :)
But the point of having a 2D-ducer is still valid. Something like HST-DFSBL is adequate for most.

Sl2 will log 2D, SideScan and DownScan. SL3 wil also log the 3D-part, but at this rime you can not use SL3 in Reefmaster. (Or any other aplication besides Insight Genesis and IG can still not use the 3D-part just the 2D.)

I have a Simrad NSS9 EVO2 with Structurescan and have successfully imported .sl2 files into Reefmaster.
