So lowrance has come out with their new Totalscan transducer, (2d, DI SI, chrip) in one, and the HDS gen 3 should be able to run these, after a update that should be on the way.
So i was wondering if anybody knows when this update is going to be available?

Here is a quote from the Simrad website re the TotalScan transducer. I expect that Lowrance will have a similar timeframe.

"Currently not compatible with Sonarhub™ or NSS evo2 Multifunction displays until new software is released - due March 2016"

The shop owner said, gen3 only, and the update should be here within "the next few weeks" according to lowrance.
