This attached screen shot shows what colours are displayed on my Lowrance Elite 4 HDI unit.




Is there a legend to say what colour numbers the ones in the grid are in RM?

The grid is 16x16 cells and contains values from 0-255, starting at the top left. So the top-left cell is 0, top-right is 15, bottom-right id 255.
To use the colours, you need to match up the id from the grid with the id shown next to AT5 colours in the colour list. If the colour shown in RM is different, ignore it, as "unofficial" colours on older systems do not match.

Thanks for sharing your findings and palette values, will help me alot when creating maps for a friends Elite 4 HDI.

Matt: Any chance you could use Johns findings to make a specific palette in RM for Elite HDI and Elite CHIRP? A supplement to Common, Indigo and NOS? There are A LOT of these units out there and it might be worth your while to make it easy for owners of these units.

Here is another one that doesn't use the darker blue, so it is a little easier to read. Both palettes display the colours in my Elite 4 HDI as displayed in RM (or pretty close to it)

It looks like you have two sets of (nearly) identical contours overlaid in your map, though?

What do you exactly mean Matt? Both screenshots have the same palet, only the other one is more zoomed in.

The contour lines themselves appear doubled? Are you exporting two maps, or using a border style on your isobaths in a user map?

Oh I see what you mean now. No idea to be honest. I actually made this only to demonstrate the color palette. When I zoomed in further everything was ok and was displayed correctly. But I had several maps installed on my sd card, that much is true yes.

I've just started using RM and I am very satisfied with it:) I have HDS Gen1 and 4 slg files that I have recorded earlier. I successfully managed to import them into RM as tracks and made 4 project. I have put them all in one map and exported them into at5 file back to my HDS. 3 fishing spots look OK but one has contours doubled the same way as Walleye's. It will not go away when I zoom the map. What could be the problem?
