This facility still exists. Log formats are: SLG, SL2, XTF.
But if the log is very tong - there is a time problem, and also note the simulation a an endless loop.

Yes indeed, that's why I always prefer to record multiple smaller logfiles instead of a few big ones.

That is also my opinion. Record a day in multiple parts, sometimes between two fishing areas, sometimes just for recording a special area. If something goes wrong, there is missing only a part, never the whole day.

The simple solution is to make them available on the Navico website. You need to read the manual.......

Is Reefmaster going to accept SL3 files in the future?

The answer at the moment is that we don't know - it depends on Navico. We are hopeful that we will be able to work something out.

I've uploaded my HDS3 from lowrance yesterday. I've made a survey today and it recorded in SL3.

Really need to upload today surveys on ReefMaster.

Anyone knows how to convert from Sl3 to Sl2 format?

Not that I know of.
You should be able to upload to Insight Genesis and then download a GPX file containing depth and position, which is enough for bathymetric mapping. You would not be able to use the track in the sonar viewer or for sidescan mosaic.

You may be able to set the SL3 file up to play via the simulator on the HDS, then set the simulator to save as sl2. Its very similar to the way you can cut sl2 files, or convert to xtf. I dont have a gen 3 so dont know if this facility still exists.

Try this tip regarding converting SL3 to SL2

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum - I should have probably posted it to the "Some Information about ReefMaster 2.0" thread, but it's locked.
In the above-mentioned thread Matt mentioned "Sidescan sonar is not the same as multi-beam, and there is no "extra" depth information available here. If there was, we would be using it already!"

But when talking about SL3 logs recieved from StructureScan 3D module (being not "multi-beam", but interferometer, which is close) - we can get depth information up to 20-30 meters sideways!
There's a great short article on pando.com saying "Interferometry does the needed triangulation, so the 3D waypoint depth value seen above is said to be quite accurate. Navico isn't doing it yet, but this means that data collected by SS3D can potentially chart wide swaths of bottom at once..."*

We all realize how great would be charting wide swaths of bottom at once, with no interpolation involved! That's the future, IMO.
Actually as far as I know Sonar Wiz, GeoDAS software and even one simple custom software, created by enthuziasts from Russia CAN GET BATHYMETRY FROM SL3!

It would be great if Reefmaster address this also!

With hope!
Thank you for your work!
