ReefMaster version 1.5 has been released. Here's what's new:
Support for the Navico Insight Map Creator
Navico have released a free tool, the Insight Map Creator, which can combine contours (contained within ESRI shapefiles) with background images, to produce stunning maps for Navico devices in the AT5 map format. AT5 maps work with a wide range of Lowrance, Simrad and B&G units, from older LMS units right through to the most recent Touch systems, and have none of the compatibility issues that can affect the older LCM map format. AT5 format maps not only work better on Lowrance units, they offer many more features and possible map styles than did the LCM format.
ReefMaster v1.5 has a new shapefile export format for map contours, specifically designed to take advantage of the new Navico application, as well as a new background image export function that produces coloured backgrounds like the one shown in the image above. The new export option makes using the Navico ICM as painless as possible, with just a few simple steps required before you can load your map onto your Navico device. We have produced a detailed tutorial to make the process even easier.
Sonar viewer
We've added a sonar viewer to the track edit screen, with super-smooth scrolling, pan and zoom and adjustable brightness and contrast. Track-points can be displayed within the sonar view, and track-point depths can be corrected in line with the observed bottom. You can also drop waypoints right in the sonar view! The sonar viewer is compatible with most Lowrance and Humminbird sonar logs.
User defined palettes
By popular demand! Now you can create any number of your own palettes, which can be used in the map and track views, as well as the new sonar viewer.
Generate minor contours in range
Minor contours can be limited to a specified depth range, which not only speeds up map generation times, but makes it easy to create maps with detail in just the areas you need.
Major contours are now only generated for the interval specified. This speeds up map generation enormously, although the downside is that the map must now be re-generated if you want to change your major contour interval.
Transducer location offset
For sonar log file imports, or when data logging over NMEA, it is now possible to specify a location offset for the transducer, giving even more accurate maps.
Latency option for dual-channel NMEA logging
If you are logging depth and position data over different NMEA channels, it is now possible to specify a lag time for either channel.
Keyboard shortcuts for pan and zoom
Move around edit windows using the arrow keys, and zoom in or out with the + or - keys. Very useful when running ReefMaster on a laptop whilst you are out on the boat!
+ a host of small fixes and changes.
