Hi Matt,

As there is not a lot of traffic anymore in this forum, I am wondering how the future of Reefmaster may look like. Are you working on the next major update? Can you already say something about the release date and the main features being added? I know quite a few of us are hoping for a vegetation module. Do you still plan to add this to Reefmaster?

Looking forward to your feedback on this.

Cheers
Sasch

Hi Sasch,
It is a reasonable question. The answer is that yes, we are (and have bene) working on a major update for some time now but it is going very slowly because this work is not getting full-time attention. Our hope is to have something towards the end of this year, although at the moment it is unclear whether or not that will include vegetation. The issue here is getting results that are reliable enough to release. What is more likely is a new plug-in procesisng architecture that will allow users to apply their own algorithms to sonar data for hardness, vegetation etc. We'll see.

Matt,
Its great to hear that Reefmaster continues to be developed. RM is an exceptionally valuable tool and produces the results that I need.

Hi Matt,

nice to read that reefmaster is not "dead" :)

I'm hoping for an importfunktion of the dataset from the raymarine element ;)
{"latitude":54.180931333333334,"longitude":9.6423725,"depth":1.17,"structure":[185,235,194,211,211,51,227,114,144,143]}
It's a jason file

greets
Olaf

Hi Olaf,
Are there any other format options when saving Raymarine data?
If you want to send an example file (or two) to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I can take a look - it shouldn't be too hard to support this format.

The most important thing is performance!
It can only be achieved by dividing each operation into separate applications. Processing everything in one application for such a project is not acceptable.
Example hypack, qinsy, sonarwiz

It is a pity that there is practically no feedback from the developer!
From the wishes section it is not clear what is planned to be added what is not in version 3!
The developer is on his own!
The problem with virtual COM ports has not been fixed no matter how much they tried!

Any chance there could be an option to create maps that a Garmin chartplotter can read? With the advent of Livescope (still way ahead of Active Target) and Garmin's superior 2D transducers, I've made the switch to Garmin, but have to keep a couple of Lowrance HDS's on the boat just for my mapping. Would love to be able to go all-Garmin. Can't find a way to use Reefmaster maps in the Garmins or convert my csv files into something that Garmin could use to create a map. Would love to see an option to export a Reefmaster map in a Garmin chartplotter format, not just AT5 and the others.
