My sonar logs match up nicely with the OpenCycleMap overlay
in ReefMaster. I went to OpenStreepMap and export the following
area into an osm file. This is a screen shot from the OSM JOSM
utility.

I would like to import the vector data in the osm file as an asset in ReefMaster.

For my first attempt, I saved as gpx and imported into ReefMaster.
It imported as waypoints with some complaints.

Has anyone done this?

My goodness this is built into ReefMaster already.

AT5 Vector Map with Open Street Map Data

Open street map data is available for free download and can be combined with ReefMaster map data during the map generation process. Open Street Map data can be downloaded from download.geofabrik.de/ (choose the .osm.pbf format). Select the smallest region that covers the required area, to keep map generation times down. When using this export process, you will be prompted for the location of an OSM data file after clicking the Save button.

Well, credit where it's due - this is actually a really nice feature of the IMC that we take advantage of!

One tip is to create the OSM map once only and rename the resulting AT5 map files. You can then leave these files on your card and just add (vector) map exports to it - they will also be displayed and you won't have to wait for the OSM generate every time (it can take a while.. there's a lot of data!).

Matt: Any hints on how to splitt the OSM-data? I would really like to use some of it, especially roads.

Not something I have really looked at, to be honest.
I know that you can download Shapefiles for OSM data - see this page for more.
It would take a bit of work, but you might be able to assign the attributes you need and create AT5 maps that way..
