I am using a SAS generated satellite image in a Elite 7 HDI. Is there any way to see the original Depth chart with the shaded image from google? All I can see now is the google image without the depth outlines. Not sure if the Elite series allows you to used the satellite image (land), but keep the water contours (depth chart).

I have been able to load the imagery to the Elite 7 through an SDHC card, but cannot see the depth contours. One workaround is to add a layer with the marine chart in SAS Planet, but not sure if functionality exists in Lowrance software.

Any advice would be great.

Hi Emilio,
An issue was introduced during the last Elite firmware update that has broken the vector-over-raster functionality for Atlas version 10 maps. RM exports Atlas 10, and at the moment this is not configurable (but will be soon in a maintenance release).

What you need to do is to export your map from RM as a set of Shapefiles, and then generate the AT5 vector map yourself using the IMC and Altas version 12.

When running the IMC:

• Make sure you are operating in the Vector Mode window, and specify an output directory (Work Directory
• Add all of the RM generated Shapefiles except InvertedShoreline. InvertedShoreline is a polygon that that is a rectangle around the map area, with a hole for the lake. If you use this file in your map, you will obscure a large chunk of your satellite imagery (this file is for clipping rasters within the water body, which can sometimes be useful).
• Set the Atlas version to 12 ("Advanced Options->Atlas Options), and check the "Auto create XML" option ("Advanced Options->Vector Options").
• Click Build

Your output files will be copied to the "BoundAT5s" subdirectory of the output directory that you chose. You will need both the "large.at5" and "at5.xml" files.
