How to download and create background maps with Insight Map Creator for Lowrance units.

The video is in German language. Maybe it will also help, if you do not understand the words.

Nice tutorial.

One thing you might want to set is the "View->Font Settings->Progress Bar Font Color...". The default progress bar for most newer versions of Windows is a cycling green progress bar and the black status text looks great on top of that but on some versions of Windows, including yours, you get the blue bars where black text looks really bad. You can set the text color on the status to any font color to get better visibility so you can see what the application is doing while it is doing it.

Nice tutorial Hubert, thanks.
Funnily enough, I hadn't tried this until I followed your video - I hadn't realised how easy it is!
Having the land area mapped definitely sets the maps off nicely.
Any chance you could create a subtitle file in English and I could put a link to this video in the tutorials section, or just write a tutorial based on this.

cheers,
Matt

Works fine (sort of) for me on HDS gen 1, and LMS emulators - but not on a real LMS, having these background maps makes the LMS show nothing for some reason. Using atlas 10.

I am not sure, but for LMS you could try at5 Version 7.

@Matt:
I do not forget your asking about subtitles or something this way. Perhaps a native english speaker could create and send me an mp3 file I could use as a second sound file and create a video with english sound?

Normally LMS has no trouble showing Atlas 10. But I tried Atlas 7, same issue - no map at all is shown on the physical LMS-527 (not even other maps that is shown when I remove the osm-based maps). Strange...

Map may be too cluttered for LMS (especially for some regions).

It isn't shown even zoomed out quite a bit so I wouldn't have thought that is the issue, but not impossible.

Not a major issue for me, but it would have been nice :)

When you wrote "small AT5 map" I realized I have only tested with the complete set "_Small", "_Medium" and "_Large". After deleting the "_Large"-file got all other maps on the card working fine again. Filesize was about 115 (atlas7) or 190 (Atlas10).

So I have it working, sort of.
