FYI
Deeper has released a tool that makes it very easy to use logdata from their products in Reefmaster.
deepersonar.com/no/introdusere-lakebook
With this it is easy to export a CSV-file that can be imported straight to Reefmaster. Lat-Lon-depth (in meters). Works like a charm and can be very handy for those ocassions where one can not use a vessel/boat etc.

One of my teammates has one and I'm about to get one as well. So still testing here, but for its intended use it looks good. With the option of using the data in Reefmaster it is a good solution for those spots where I can't use a boat, combining its data with sonarlogs from other equipment.

I'm about done with my testing of Deeper Pro+ now. It works well with RM, but has a major flaw.

The shore-fishing feature uses a buildt-in GPS-reciver for position. That reciver is simply not doing what it should. I have tested two different Deeper and been in contact with Deeper. They are aware of the problem and will change the reciver on future models. As per now data from shore-fishing mode is easily 30-40 meters off even though Deeper shows GPS-lock.

In boat-mode it uses the GPS of your mobile and works like it should.

I've been using the deeper pro+ a great deal and also found that from time to time the gps of the deeper goes off in accuracy. I have some maps of lakes from different days that are ways off in terms of position. Intermittent issue for me but very frustrating on what is otherwise a good piece of kit.

I was wondering if is was just my unit but clearly not.

Team Colibri, did they mention a date when it should be fixed? How will we know about the improved model ?

No mention of a date or change in name/number etc. This was one of several things I have discussed with them. My solution was this:

It worked like a charm in my local pond. :)

So it is possible to disable the GPS signals from the Deeeper Pro + and use the GPS from the Iphone?

Correct. :)
Pro+ is the same device as Pro, but has the internal GPS-reciver. With both models you have a few modes to choose from and only one (shore-fishing mode) makes the Pro+ use the internal reciver. For all other modes it uses your phone or tablet. In this case I use boat-mode, so it uses my phones reciver and draws up the map. You could also use standard-mode where it uses the phones reciver but does not record any data or draw a map.

Due to the rather poor internal reciver in Pro+ I see no reason to buy Pro+ over Pro. Pro is however a lot better then the cheaper 3.0 that uses Bluetooth instead of WIFI and has the old sonar. The Bluetooth-signal has shorter range and is more unstable. The sonar in Pro/Pro+ is clearly better then 3.0.

:D
The boat is 46 cm, so it easily fits in my backpack. It is driven by four AA-batteries. Ideal for when I take the kids to the beach.

I'm definitely buying a Deeper or the Lowrance Fishunter which has just become available,I going to try it with my side planning board to double my data when trolling. Quick question do you have to keep initialising the unit if your casting and retrieving?
Thanks Charles
