First make your map with RM to understand your area in 3D.

Use sonar viewer for locate fishs and create waypoints:

Look where is the best concentration!

Not to loose lure, look with mosiac if any risk at the bottom and enjoy fishing!

First, make good SETTINGS sonar. (There it is a CHIRP sonar and sensor Airmar 1kW but with a sounder first prize also does this).
After there is the possibility to easily correct if necessary with RM !!
Results fishing once properly positioned, you can see the lures down to the bench and squid up to the surface!

Here we see two lures (straight line) and squid attacking

Hi very interesting,
in my experience I notice tha in the saltwater, and in deep water highter of 25mt/30mt.... the structurescan imagen are almost black. Unusable. The mosaic becomes a black images....
I woul like be able to do a mosaic of my sea zone, but I have a botton between 35mt and 65mt. Too many.
Do you know how this situation can be improved? Perhaps adding power? Perhaps by stretching the probe cable and lowering it to the bottom of the sea? I do not know.
Best Regards

leonard

58 meters deep.

But building a towfish would give much better results then my image from a transommounted StructureScan 3D.

Hello,
What you are talking about is a possible solution, but according to my opinion is not the best, for so many reasons.
According to my opinion, more power is needed, much more power. And I do not know how to increase power. Maybe a different probe?
How can we cast more power to our Elite 7 TI? Do you know how to do it?
Thanks mile in advance !!!

More power means longer pulses, and that means less seperation. Not a good thing... Belive me, with recreational scanning sonar, a towfish is the best way for better Sidescan.

May I ask how the overlay of the sidescan and depth map is performed?

Create a sidescan mosaic (or select a region of mosaic in a track view) and export as MBTiles. Then add the MBTiles back into the project as an image (actually, there is an option during export that will automatically do this). Then you can just add the image to an existing map project as an image layer (easiest way: drag the image from the asset list into the contour view of a project). Then you can play with layer ordering, opacity etc and export as a single image or view in 3D.
