I friend and I took the day and mapped up one of the local lakes around where I live. Two boats and one day produced this.

I also have the volumes-module for RM. Those data will be used by both the local authorities and the fishingclub responsible for stocking the lake with trout. Units used for the sonarlogging was Lowrance HDS 8 Gen 2 with HST-WSBL and Elite 4 HDI with 83/200/455/800-HDI.

Only for the different depth gradient (especially 3D) find green a bit confusing.. I was actual thinking that the lake had some small islands and wondering if you imported google elevation data (if possible)..

The colours are chosen by several factors. One is compatability with older Lowrance/ Simrad chartplotters, another is in order to easily spot the more interesting depths for fishing while zoomed out on a chartplotter. But I see your point. :)

Since you mentioned it, could you provide your Color palette that you use for compatibility with older Lowrance units? I have a friend with an older Lowrance LCX-110c, and noticed the first 1 through 30 colors or so seem to match from Reefmaster to his Lowrance, but beyond that it looks like many of the Reefmaster colors aren't compatible with his older Lowrance.
Just looking for a good color palette to use, and know you've done plenty of mapping, and probably have a good one created, like the one in your pictures here.
