It would be nice to have the ability to measure in "feet" as an option to "yards".

Yep - I hear you. As metric users I have to admit we got it wrong with our assumption that US users would prefer feet/yards/miles, and that it would be better to jump straight from feet to miles, or at least to prevent yards from being shown until a much higher distance is being measured. I would be interested to hear more feedback on this from US users.

And me....I still work in feet too ! I really dislike having to use a decimal point on charts, so opt for feet to give me a finer graduation and spare the real estate occupied by a decimal point. I dont think in yards either, if I see yards I mentally convert to feet anyway, so it would be good to have the option not to have them at all.
