Why not to offer theses sames options while exporting preset style (AT5 with shaded relief)?

I really like theses options, but it is useless, except to see the map in Google Earth... I want to play with the brightness, light direction and vertical scale as well when I export my shaded relief map... It produce a better visual effect and it could be great on the HDS... My map are too dark... Just a little more brightness and light direction adjustment could do the job...

Thanks

Fred

Hi Fred,
Sorry - missed this when you first posted it.
The preset map style exports are designed to be as simple as possible, so there are no configuration options for the shaded relief. If you want to use a shaded relief image with different brightness or light direction settings, then you can export the shaded relief image separately and run this through the IMC raster process manually. You can then export the vector components via a preset map style and use the exported vector components along with the shaded relief ones that you exported earlier.

Hi Matt, no problem, thanks for the reply...

I know that I can do it the way you explained it here. But that shaded relief image is at lower resolution. the result is not as good. And it look like I have better image resolution when I make small project. For large river, the resolution come out really low when exporting shaded relief... Image resolution come out really better when exporting AT5 with preset style...

What I'm doing for the moment , I just export ESRI grid and open it with GlobalMapper, then export it to KML/KMZ, and process this trought IMC... The result is great.

AND I just found that I can adjust light intensity in GlobalMapper. That make the job that I want... But the process is longer... It could be great if we could to that when exporting preset style...

The shaded relief export is the same resolution whichever way it is exported (preset map style or SR only) - it's exported using exactly the same code, except the light & vertical exaggeration parameters are fixed for the preset style. Maybe you need to take a look at your IMC settings? Try choosing a lower maximum resolution - e.g. 0.25.

It's ok Matt, I was wrong. I compared with image exported from GlobalMapper KMZ built with ESRI grid data from ReefMaster. ShadedRelief from RM is 680 kb, with GlobalMapper, it's 12 MB... There is my resolution difference...

Now it's fine, I can make what I need...

Thanks again !
