Im wondering if there is any better slution to export Conoutr lines or direct 3D files.

Unfortunately contour lines are only flatten as 2D, so they canno be used in any CAD or GIS file for furthe volume inspections. When exporting ESRI grid im wondering why there is no resolution below 1

Do you think it would be possible to include a simple DWG or DXF file export with 3D contours? Or eventually even 3D polygons?

Thanks
Igor

Yes, export to a 3D polygon mesh in DXF or OBJ format would be awesome! I wonder if you could create a "heightmap" by adjusting the depth color palette and then convert that to a 3D mesh?

Resolution of 1 meter does not feel too bad for me, probably your tracks have greater intervals. Quite simple workflow is to export data as ESRI grid, open the file with QGIS and use the qgis2threejs plugin qgis2threejs.readthedocs.io/en/docs-release/index.html for exporting 3D data in STL, Wavefront, or COLLADA format qgis2threejs.readthedocs.io/en/docs-release/ExportSettings.html.

Yes you are all completely right. We can export ESRI Grid, than import it into Qgis, transform it , create completely new contours with 3D value and so on...
but why can't do this ReeMaster directly out of the box. If you export the major and minor contours layer only the elevation information is completely lost.

There is still a 3D view function in ReefMaster, the logically step would be to be able to export directly the 3D volume as Mesh, contour lines or pointcloud with Z-Elevation.

I think it does need someone at reefmaster adding the Z-Value for the export.

It took me now almost all one day to export the ESRI Grid and to recreate all the contours and shapes in a GIS tool. Something that would be so fast directly in Reefmaster.

Can you not plese programm any STL OBJ export of the 3D Mesh? that would be so simple...

What is your ultimate goal here? If it is just contours with depth attributes, then we can add that very simply. The depth is actually already in the shapefile as a contour attribute, but in text form - it should be possible to parse this into a value for use in a GIS app, but I admit that it would be a lot easier to have a straight numerical value available as an attribute.

I need to export Major & Minor Contours with depht information. It is a pain if we can only go with ESRI Grid, than I need to generate everything again in QGIS.
If we can export directly contours with depth in dxf or shapfile, that would be great.

Also Im trying to find a way to be able to export the entire track with depth, so that QGIS can open it. At moment I get only flat depth informations

I was able to use the ESRI export along with qgis2threejs and easily create a pretty cool web page of my map.

You can export Shapefile as point geometries, with depth as an attribute for each point.
