Wish to be able to generate spot soundings on the map through a specified distance.

Like to second this, it would be very useful to be able to get an image up of track point soundings in a project expressed as numerical spot depths and still using the chosen depth colour pallete for the text, with an option for radius averaging if possible to give some numerical seperation at various scales.
