I put the shaded relief folder (and its enclosed .at5 files) onto the card, and loaded it into the HDS. The unit blinks for a second (normal) and shows a "Loading Maps" message at the bottom of the screen (normal) but there's no change. The new map doesn't appear. I must be doing something wrong.

Ok. I may have figured it out... you said "(large.at5 and at5.xml in the root, and texture files in the ShadedRelief)." I only put the ShadedRelief folder and its files on the SD card. I'll try adding the large.at5 and at5.xml files on too. Though on my computer they aren't in the ShadedRelief but in the root IMC_Application_x86 folder.

Now I'm thinking that it should be set up like this... Option One - SD card with a main folder. (Named whatever) Inside of the folder, the large.at5 and at5.xml and a sub folder ShadedRelief with the rest of the .at5 files?

or Option Two - The SD card with just the large.at5 and at5.xml files and a sub folder ShadedRelief?

Tried option two first. It worked. All the contours are showing perfectly. Only one problem. There's only one color for the entire background. Land and lake are a yellowish gold. The map I made was from the at5 palettes selections in several shades of green. Perhaps just the two or three tone blues instead?

I'd start without the shaded relief folder first, just to make sure the depth area colours are working. You should be getting colours - are you zoomed in? It could also be a chart categories issue. Did you say you were running a HDS3?

No Gen 2. I think skinnee was the one with gen 3.

As for the depth contours showing, they wouldn't with just the shadedrelief folder. When I added the large.at5, the at5.xml and the ShadedRelief folder to the SD card, the contours showed up great (zoomed in or out) but now color palette is just an over all yellowish gold color. (the entire screen, land and lake)

Can you clarify what kind of map you are exporting? If you are using a preset style, which one are you using? Did you generate the map in vector mode (i.e. do you have isobaths?) or is a raster mode map where the only colours you would expect to see would come from the shaded relief background?

Had an answer but the site timed me out and I lost all that I typed.

First try, The Shaded Relief folder only. Got contours but no color. A yellowish color for everything.

Next try, The Shaded Relief folder and the large.at5 and at5.xml files. That attempt showed the contours and a yellowish background for all, land and lake as well. I used a AT5 palette of light green to dark green. (Shaded relief was checked on the HDS) And I used a preset with a raster choice on the edit panel. The 'preset style' was "AT5 Map with Colour Band Shaded Relief". The map style as recommended in the RM read me.

The map is working now. (Part ways any how.)

I regenerated a map. This time with an RGB palette of white and light blues (which I prefer). In this latest attempt, --- contours are showing with a white and light blues background on the map was made using the "AT5 Map with Flat Raster Background" but in a Vector mode. Zoomed out, half the lake has the correct color, and the other half that yellowish color I mentioned.

All the contour lines show perfectly and look even better on the HDS than on the RM program! Maybe its just a matter of trying different combinations until you get one that works on your particular unit?? Going to try it on my other HDS.

Here is what the map currently looks like.

Please read my above post, but to update, as strange as is sounds, the map seems to have settled down in the HDS. I get a full correctly colored map zoomed in or out and as a test, I turned on my LSS-1 and then my other HDS and the map shows up perfectly on this unit as well. The map looks so freaking good. I can't wait to get out on the water and use them!

Currently, with just the one map, the card is set up like this - The "large.at5" and "at5.xml" files and a sub folder "ShadedRelief" with one each of _3DTexture_1.at5, _3DTexture_2.at5, _3DTexture_4.at5, _3DTexture_8.at5 and _3DTexture_16.at5.

Now, I just have to generate my other completed map and then figure out how to get them all on one SD card! I can do multiple cards, but having them on one would be the ideal way to go.
