Is it possible to add additional track points when sonar editing?

Some of the data I have is not as clean in the traditional sonar recordings side as the newer tracks I have been making partly due to teething problems like this transducer not being correctly set initially in my Lowrance HDS gen 2. I have got that sorted now, but still see the odd patch with no track-points available to manipulate despite a clear bottom picture available. In flat areas this is not going to affect anything greatly but I have some some rock structures or rises etc that have no track-points at all associated with them.

I have been using the pencil tool to correct track-points using the down/side scan view data to proof-read, and this has really helped clean up some false artefacts on my initial maps from wayward trackpoints. Does one have to go over these patches again next trip or can I add a few new track points to map this data? I have deleted any really bad patches. I have only been using the evaluation copy for a couple of days and have searched so apologies if this is covered somewhere.

Simon, check out this thread. I think this is along the lines of what you were getting at.

Thank you Craigm that does cover the question; so it seems not currently available but a host of additional tools should be on the horizon for track point/bottom edge editing and detecting. Sounds really good as I have quickly realised how important it is to review and correct each track before adding to a map... after having some false 'underwater mountains' show up on my first try.

It would be nice to have the keyboard up and side arrows work together to scroll at an angle up and down rises etc when reviewing track points with the mouse using the pencil tool. I find this time consuming even on a large screen.

In the mean time I am marking waypoints on areas of interest devoid of trackpoints and will go over them next trip as increasing the interpolation over these particular non flat areas would not really be accurate I guess. The downscan and sidescan review is fantastic to pick up things that I hadn't necessarily noticed on the water.
