i have just bought an Elite 4 DSI, looking through the manual i cant see any info on how to log your sonar data , on my previous unit an Eagle you had to select "log sonar data" does the Elite unit record the data automaticly when a n sd card is in the unit? or am i missing something?

Unfortunately, the Lowrance Elite 4 DSI has no recording options. It is just not possible to record sonarlogs. You would need an Elite 4 HDI instead.

No, only Elite HDI units and all Lowrance HDS series are able to collect logfiles.
