Hello all,

I'm new to this forum and new user of ReefMaster since about two-tree weeks...

I make custom map for my Lowrance HDS since 3 years now... Before I was using DrDepth and GlobalMapper, now I use GlobalMapper and ReefMaster, map are a lot more detailed and beautiful...

My map for my HDS are really sweet with ReefMaster...

Now I'm trying, since a week, to make a map for my Garmin Rino... But I'm not able...

I followed this tutorial: www.anglingcharts.com/tutorials/reefmastergarmin.html

I don't find any Navico type in GpsMapEdit... I tried everything but nothing work... I upgraded the file ShpDefault.dat but still not working...

I tried with demo shape file on the same web site but again, when importing shapefile with GpsMapEdit, there is no Navico type... For exemple, when importing the InvertedShoreline shp file, they said to select type 0x0101, Navico Land... The type displayed in my GpsMapEdit begin with 0x00, I have no type 0x01 at all... No Navico type at all...

I tried with other standard type, but can't see anything on my Garmin...

Someone know how to resolve this ?

Thanks

And sorry for my bad english, I speak french...

Fred

I've just noticed this post, and I'm pleased the solution was easily found. You need to be careful when using any text type configuration files for a lot of applications because most get confused between commas and decimal points.

I should have thought about it before, commas and decimal... I'm software developper... Doh !

But it can help other begginer user next time !!!!

But now, I need to find how to get a transparent background for that map, to be able to see other garmin data (See my other post).

Thanks
