I am trying to see if there is a way to save data from multiple SD cards to a file to be able to be accessed after the SD cards are removed. The scenario is multiple boats recording sonar for search and recovery operations. At a certain point, boats come in exchange SD cards and return to the water to continue to search. I have attempted to save and am unable to change the name of the recording and still access the data. All the recordings show up as Rec00001.DAT and I am unable to save multiple as every recording on each card starts at Rec00001. Thank you in advance for any help.

What sounders are you using? I run Simrad and I can name the sonar files to anything I like either at the time of creating the log file or afterwards by renaming on my PC before importing into Reefmaster.

One way to approach this would be to have a folder named for each vessel/Humminbird unit. Simply transfer each unit's sonar files to their own folder, and then import from these folders into ReefMaster. This will avoid multiple files with the same name being stored in the same folder. You could replicate the same folder structure within ReefMaster, or rename logs once imported (e.g. add a vessel identifier before or after the name).
Note that once imported it doesn't matter to ReefMaster if multiple sonar logs have the same display name (e.g. Rec00001) but of course it is not the most useful from a human readability point of view.

There are a mix of Humminbird sounders. Helix, Solix and now Xplores. I had tried to rename them prior to accessing them on Reefmaster, however once I did so, I was unable to access the data, as it stated that it did not recognize the format. I can try it again next time I am out to see if I messed something up, which is very possible. I appreciate the info.

Thanks for the info. Breaking each vessel down into their own folder then trip might be the way to go. Thank you for the help.
