Hello everyone. I've been mapping for years using RM with my HDS Carbon-16. I've ordered a new pilothouse boat for saltwater and would like to rig with Simrad, specifically to use my map for a large inland reservoir when I'm on it. I'm just trying to confirm that this MFD will work. It's the Simrad equivalent of the HDS Live FWIW. Thanks.

Yes, should be fine. Simrad records sonar to the same file formats as Lowrance.

Got a response from a very experienced member on another forum that the NSS evo3S reads at5 files, but the new NSS 4 series just released does not. I'll probably pick one unit up just to confirm before buying them all for the boat. Thanks again.

Have been happily using an NSS Evo3 for several years. I only bother to record the older .slg format as I am only looking for positions with depths rather than the extra sonar data that the .sl2 and .sl3 files formats include. The only issue I have encountered is where my individual map areas are separate but close together where the background raster does not always display properly. Otherwise, all is good.
