So i finally got some vacation from the study's and got a job to earn some money for a new chartplotter.

The plan is to buy a lowrance gen2 HDS7 touch, with the 83/200 and structurescan transducer.

Is there anything i need to know, when i comes to collecting data, and makng the maps in RM?
I used to use my garmin echomap and just export the logs in Garmin Homeport to GPX files, and found that really easy.

Nei, det er ikke noe spesielt du bør gjøre med Lowrance kontra Garmin. :) RM tar filene fra Lowrance (slg/sl2) direkte, så du trenger ikke å konvertere som du måtte med Garmin.

You can export your waypoints from RM in GPX or USR v3 format, which should import fine into an HDS2.

Just an update, i got all the garmin waypoints moved to my lowrance unit, and i just recorded some sonarlogs today, with the new HDS and added them to the maps i made with the garmin unit, and everything works like a dream :D
