Hello, I have a new LapTop. An HP Pavilion with Windows 11. After opening Reef Master and selecting a sonar log file ( Hummingbird ). Loading starts. However at the end where I should get the sonar window my screen turns black. The LapTop is not repsponding any more. I have to power it off and restart the PC.
Is this a compatability issue? Or might there be an other cause?
I have been able to view the sonar log on an other LapTop with an older version of Windows.
Also tried to run it as administrator and in compatibility mode without any succes.
Are you talking about the standalone Sonar Viewer or ReefMaster 2.0? Either way, this sounds like a hardware graphics compatibility issue rather than a W11 issue. If you are using ReefMaster you can turn off hardware graphics acceleration by using the check box in the global settings window and then restarting ReefMaster. There is no option to do this in the Sonar Viewer, but if you are using Lowrance files you could try the newer Waypoint Manager/Sonar Viewer which does have a software rendering fallback (the Waypoint Manager will work using a Sonar Viewer key).
