Hi there, first post for me. I was using the old Lowrance SonarViewer for SL2 files and now am a real fan of the ReefMaster Sonar Viewer, so much more information! Unfortunately I have encountered an intermittent issue and I hope someone can shed some light on it for me.
I am using a Lowrance HDS12 Live and had one instance a few weeks ago where a logged SL3 file did not display any sidescan or downscan data (just says SIDESCAN UNAVAILABLE in the box at the bottom right of screen). I usually record multiple files on any given trip and in the instance I mentioned here it was the only file that did not display all the recorded data out of all recorded files from that day.
Yesterday I was out on the water again and recorded several files, upon opening them in Reefmaster Sonar Viewer V1,0,38,0 I had two files that would not display any sidescan or downscan data.
I am using a Lowrance 3D transducer. I have a suspicion that range has maybe something to do with this problem. Usually I will record using a maximum of 50 or 60 metres range each side however yesterday I was running 90 metres and at times 100 and even 150 metres each side doing some testing.
I believe that all the files that have given me problems have at times been logged at these higher ranges at some stage during the recording. Having said that, I do have some files that have successfully displayed these higher ranges.
As a test, I re- played a file that would not display correctly in ReefMaster on the HDS Live unit itself and it does show sidescan data on the HDS head unit, the same as all my other "successful" recordings.
Any ideas please????

All I can suggest is that you share the problem file with us, so that we can take a look. The best way to do this is to zip the file up and use a file sharing service such as WeTransfer.
