Hi, I am new to this software, so please bear with my questions, I have tried searching and not found answers yet...

I am trying to hook a gps/sonar unit onto a kayak and paddle it across a river while collecting data, and then export that data to generate a location/depth cross-section of the river. I have access to a garmin ECHOMAP UHD 94sv, can i use this unit with reefmaster to accomplish this task?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Alternate question i suppose: if the garmin is not a good way to do this, what unit and transducer should I buy?

Lowrance Hook Reveal with 50/200-HDI is a great budget-option. It lacks raster and sidescan, but the quality of the sonar and transducer is good. With Elite Ti2 beeing discontinued (replaced by Elite FS) there are very good deals to be found on that unit, pair it with Active Imaging 3 in 1 if you want SideScan.
