How are you importing it? What kind of KML file do you have - is it a ground overlay with an associated image file?

Hi, I'm new to ReefMaster v2 and I'm having the same issue.
My question is: how do you actually create a kml/kmz file from Google Earth (or similar) to serve as an overlay file?

Best,
Ray

Sorry - missed this post earlier.
For background images you need a Ground Overlay, which is just an image that has been calibrated in Google Earth. There is a tutorial on how to do this here: https://www.google.com/earth/outreach/learn/creating-photos-image-overlays-in-google-earth/. You then need to save your overlay to disk, which will result in a KML file and an associated image file (whichever image file you used to create to create the overlay with). Ideally, the KML and image file will be in the same disk location. To import the image into RM, select the KML file (not the image file) and the image will be imported and located in the geographical position that you specified in Google Earth.

I appreciate that you mean to be helpful, but acquiring images in this way is not within the Ts&Cs of the original map providers so we would prefer not to host these details on this forum.

Hello,
New User in Canada - tying out the trial version.
I was just wondering if RM supports .OVR files when trying to import imagry?
Thanks,
Craig
