You really want AutoChart (PC) for your Helix. But the HT-format kan be used, although in a cumbersome and not very good way...

Import those HT-files as tracks, and then change the colours om each one to get a perspective om depth. It takes forever to get it done.

I can export the map in humminbird format, but my humminbird device will not show it?

I have done it on a Helix 5 G1, although the image above is from a 859.

Looks like a job for a loooong winter evening...

So there is the problem. :) You did put it in a folder on the memorycard named MATRIX?

no, it reacts not at all to the files and the folder on the card

I tried chart installer, didn't work either :(
another guy in a german forum had the same problem.

Wasn't there something about the new helix G2 series having a new protection to prevent the use of self-created maps insted of buying them from HB?

Well, befor I do some sysiphean track colouring or even buy AutoChart I consider selling my Helix 5 on ebay an buying a Lowrance Elite 5 Ti Touch with TotalScan sounder instead.
It's for sale st a very good price this week, so I have to decide fast - do you guys think that's a good idea/choice?

If your goal is mapping with Reefmaster, yes Lowrance is the way to go. You can also look at Simrad, their Go xse is very similar to Elite Ti.

If it makes you feel better, you can always put a bird on the screen of the Lowrance. ;)
