I have a question about shapefile exports: for now, as you can see on the enclosed image


I have to generate the shore in order to be able to export it in shapefile.

If I export it in .kml, it is possible to get rid of the shore. Is there a way to do the same with raster.shp, as it would be much simpler on IMC.

I hope I was clear in my asking, and please forgive me otherwise, I'm not a native English speaker.

Do you mean: Delete the shore line after chart interpolation in RM (others make no sense)?

If yes, RM create 4 shape-files. The shore line infos contain in 3 from 4 shapes, not in *_minor.shp file.

You can delete shore line elements in GIS application e. g. QGIS (freeware)

 - Open qgis and load file
 - Open attribute table (right click on file name)
 - Push edit button
 - Mark the shore line
 - Push delete object button
 - Push edit button again and save file
 - Result - the line is deleted
 - Repeat this with the other 2 shape files
 - Now You can use the IMC

Hi Alain,
(I moved your post to the support section)
If you wish to export contours without a shoreline, you can do as Fjordfisher suggested, or alternatively you can add all of your contours to a User Map, and then delete the shoreline in the user map before exporting it.
Also, if you want to use an exported map image in a kml file, you can de-select the option "show frame and scale" in the save image window, so that your image does not have the border, compass rose and scale.

Yes Matt, this is still simpler in RM.
My intention was, to control in the attribute table, whether really all elements included. But this is not necessary.

Hi Alain,

Glad it's working for you. One other option, which I forgot about (and probably the easiest of the three) is to simply uncheck "show boundary in map" in the boundaries edit area. Then you won't see your boundary at all in the contour view, but it will still act as a boundary during map generation.
