Does any Lowrance USR version 2-5 support track-segment(TRKSEG) format.

So far I've only been successful importing tracks with segments using GPX.
And hope I'm not hijacking thread, subjects seem close.

I am not sure of the answer to this, but depending on what you are looking to achieve there may be other ways of getting there. Do you want to see lots of trails on a Lowrance? Once option might be a user map exported as an AT5 map. These will run on a wide range of units - but a downside of this approach would be that you would not be able to see existing mapping at the same time (although on some units you can split the display between Lowrance (AT5) and custom mapping).

I have both Humminbird and Lowrance, so did some testing on Lowrance.

Lowrance HDS Gen2 Touch's and USRv5 format do support tracks with track-segments. My HDS12 can export and import the USRv5 file with all waypoints & tracks(with track-segments) when file is created on HDS12 unit.

The problem is that Lowrance's on Insight Planner PC software does not support track-segments when writing out USRv5. I will test USRv2, v3 & v4 when I have more time. I'm not optimistic on success.

Strange thing, Insight Planner supports track-segment when writing GPX. Problem with GPX is that icons are lost and track characteristics(color, width) are lost also.

I must use tracks to display on Navionics and LakeMaster mapping.

Wouldn't some standards be nice for icon symbols, track-segments, and track characteristics?

The only short-term solution I can think of for your problem is to create an at5 map for your Lowrance from a user map with all of your tracks combined. You can style them in there and will get (more or less) exactly what you see in RM on your unit. You can split the view on some later models to show mapping from two difference sources on the same screen, which might be good enough if you just need to be able to navigate some stored trails?
