The attached Data.HWR file was imported successfully into RM. When commanded to export the imported waypoints to a GPX file, the error displayed within the attached screen snapshot occurred. Please identify the reason for the reported error and how to remedy. Additionally, do RM have a feature permitting it to display a list of waypoints and their coordinates?

It seems that there are two waypoints in there with "dodgy" names, that aren't getting caught before export. These are 27 and 28 - if you open them up and rename them, the export proceeds smoothly. We will fix the issue in a future release.

You can see a list of waypoints within a set by opening up the Waypoints tab and selecting the set you wish to view. For example, here are yours:



You can also export waypoints as a CSV file containing name, time and position.

Thanks for the quick response. Making the changes which you had recommended did indeed permit me to export the data successfully. My mistake in not being able to previously view the Waypoint list stemmed from failing to configure the Set field within the Waypoints tab.

Thanks again for the quick and accurate information. We have been seeking an application to recommend for producing GPX files from the data within Humminbird HWR files for our customers and dealers ... ReefMaster Lite appears to perform this task quite well in the brief test performed.

Not that I want to turn away business, but isn't it possible to do what you want using the free Humminbird PC application from Humminbird? I am almost certain that can re-save HWR waypoints in GPX format.

Any plans at Raymarine to start logging sonar?

Thanks for the additional suggestion and had attempted that path before ReefMaster Lite. Unfortunately, it appears that the only way to download the Humminbird PC application is to have first registered one's Humminbird product. As such, it was unavailable to us. That said, zero cost solutions are always very attractive and will be recommended to our customers as well.

Also take a look at GPS Babel which I believe can read HWR and write in a host of formats (including GPX, and maybe even Raymarine).
