We need SL3 support....

I am now happy to confirm that we will be including SL3 support as part of ReefMaster 2.0.

Depending on how stretched we are for resources, we may also be able to issue an update for RM 1.
Excellent news Matt!
Now I am really looking forward to 2.0 (and to spring when I can have my boat in the water again).

Longjohn's Rules of Product Design

1. Figure out how long it will take .... then double it and add 10%

2. Figure how much development will cost ..... then double it and add 10%

3. It always costs less to do it right than to do it twice

Even by your by your first metric we are probably a little over :)

We are just tying up a few loose ends now and working on documentation. If there is an appetite for it, we might do a "soft" launch two weeks from now whilst we work on the marketing and get some more feedback from early adopters, prior to the full launch a few weeks after that.

Yes, there is appetite for "soft" launch. Really.
This is very good idea, prerelese version for old customers. I am using two licence of RM. (private and office with all modules).
I am working with dam reservoir. There is all logs with another level of water.
There is end of our university project in April. I would like to finish map for april with new version of RM.

There is also very important for shopping list for next year.

Matt I would support a soft launch for the existing users, and I am happy to do testing and report back on things if that is in anyway helpful.
Cheers

Step 3 is the most important step .... The first two steps are to keep you from violating the third .....

I'd rather wait a few extra weeks and get a good product .... It's not like I'm going to get out anytime soon although here in Iowa we broke 60 degrees today and are supposed to for the next couple of days so I'm really Jonesing to so some fishing .... and mapping ....

That being said if you need a beta/pre-release testing and documentation proof reading I do have a bit of experience ..... I was a beta tester for Google before they even called it Google, and did some work with the ALSA Linux sound API before that ..... I'm in that mode anyway as I'm about to start on a project to try to get my Lowrance Elite 7 TI bluetooth for Power Poles to work with my Trac Big Water 45 electric anchors so I have my finder on the bench test setup already. Plus I'm setting up a new Windows Tablet for the boat ... Actually it's one of those dual boot Windows/Android setups. It's the first Tablet I've had that can actually power a USB hard drive or DVD burner and has one full sized USB 2.0 and one full sized USB 3.0 port on it plus the OTG micro USB

But it's supposed to hit 68 in a couple of hours so I'm going to get out of the house ..... highs in the low to mid 60's through Wednesday in Iowa in February doesn't happen all that often .....

I'm definitely getting the next upgrade. I'm especially interested in the sidescan mosaicing improvements as it's relatively time consuming to section out the swaths.

I am also keen to beta test. I live in Darwin Australia where we get +8m tides 2-3 times a day.

I am keen to test the application of tide curves in 2.0
