New to site but been reading last few hours.

Just started messing with IMC to create raster background images. As I understand it a tiff will work but I need to convert a 2 meter resolution MrSID file. I can begin working on that using ESRI but curious if you have other suggestions?

Moving on, is it best to use a shapefile and create index so IMC takes areas only relevant to my needed mapping?

Another issue is it isn't just one SID. I have multiple since my lake of interest is 170 miles long. Do I need to mosaic or can I use IMC per SID and combine outputs into the same shaded relief folder?

How big is too big per tiff?

And as I understand it, I can have my vector contours derived from IFSAR sit on top of these IMC image files?

Any other tips and tricks?
