You can mention it will be fixed in the next release.

Timeframes, however, are difficult to specify because they rely on a lot more than just my effort. For now, I'm promising nothing and plan to over deliver. :)

It's been a little while so I'll post an update on this.

This is pending discovery on the chart plotters for the Elite HDI raster issue. Until we know what's causing the issue and fix it if it's on the chart production side, the IMC will not be updated.

Excuse my bad english, but who is responsible to this, IMC or Atlas version?
In Atlas v10 half of possible russian letters (not depend on IMC version) are not correct, in Atlas v12 all symbols unreadable. Source shape dbf in UTF-8 with full russian alphabet...

Atlas Version 10 doesn't support anything outside the Win 1252 code page
Atlas Version 12 supports full Unicode but does not have font entries to match each code point so some may appear as boxes or question marks.

The IMC, until the next release, does not support DBF LDID. You must fill out a CPG file to get anything outside the Win 1252 codepage to work.

How to do this is covered within this thread: reefmaster.com.au/index.php/forum/mappin...-to-at5-small-manual

Thank you a lot, but i still dont get it..
I tried one month ago with CPG-file 1251 string, but nothing - in at5 only "?" sign
And the 0x1D byte in DBF was correct, by the way ))
Now, on WinXP x86 SP3, create correct shape in UTF-8 65001
And see some russian letters in at5 v10 on HDI!

Some magic... In attach Lat/Lon 50/50 NE

I have used IMC to create a map for european waterways (see waterways.cz). The work has been surprisingly easy and the map (waterways.cz/waterways_at5.rar) looks suitable.
I came across only two difficulties.
First. It seems, that in case two polygons with the same color at the same place, there is (at least in emulator Elite-5) no polygon at the place in the compiled map.
Second. I haven't found possibility, how to see a VALUE of a polygon. May be (if it is possible) it would be solution to show a VALUE of a polygon, if the cursor is at a border of the polygon.

Regards

Zdenek

Polygon values:

Yes, there is no possibility to display the polygon values directly.

alternative:
- transform the polygons into lines and use the polyline values
- use points & there values in the polygon areas
- use points and INFO_BOX. INFO_BOX is the place to store notes but it isn't allowed on lines/areas until atlas major version 13. With INFO_BOX You can add much more informations as in value

Best wishes

On the elite, you can't have overlapping polygons that are the same feature. On the Indigo/Violet OS, the polygon filling is done with all polygons in the feature set at once instead of a single polygon at a time (like it is on NOS OS).

The DBF codepages on the shapefiles were set to 0x57 (ESRI's alias for Win 1252). I set these to 0 for the one with the CPG file and 0xC9 for the one without on my internal release and was able to get the strings in AT5 version 12 but not AT5 version 10. None of these strings translated to Windows 1252.

For the current release, LDID is ignored and only CPG is used.

Thank you so much, with CPG-file atlas v12 cyrillic works fine in WIN-1251
It is only strange, that the old maps in .LCM on the emulator shows all Cyrillic characters.
And more. In the AT5 font size from 6 to 13 shows:
two size on the LCX series - www.sorvik.ru/at5/LCX-25C_A10_foto.png
the same size on the Elite-5 DSI and HDI - www.sorvik.ru/at5/ELITE5-DSI_A10.png
on HDS all fonts shows well - www.sorvik.ru/at5/HDS-GEN2_A10.png
