Hey Lou - any chance you could upload your SonarTRX files to a fileshare service - http://www.sendspace.com/ is as good as any, and doesn't require registration before hand. If you could then send the link to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. I will take a look. I would need the whole directory sttructure of image files, as well as the kml file. It will be easier to add all of this to a zip file first - although you won't get a lot of compression with the image files.

We'll get to the bottom of it!

cheers,
Matt

Hi Lou,
I got the images to import with no issues, but it did create 13000 tiles. Not a huge problem in itself, but a lot (most) of those tiles are going to be empty in this case, as your mosaic is a long, straight diagonal run. If you could import that in sections - say, 100m at a time - it would be quicker. You wouldn't save much disk space as transparent tiles don't use much.
Your mosaic is big - almost a mile long at high res. The problem with zoom is something we need to fix - the image doesn't show at all at lower zoom levels, and we should change that so that it shows an outline or something. I had no trouble seeing the image once I zoomed in to the correct location, and overlaying it on the map. Choose "overlay" and make sure the opacity is set high.

Let me know if you are still having issues.

Matt

Thanks Matt,

Am I going to be able to produce a map showing all 29 of my parallel runs covering the whole project area? This is the site of an old town covered by the new dam/lake. The project is approx. 3/4 x 1 1/2 miles. The overview would show the old railroad bed, roads, foundations, and creeks. Is this going to be possible?

No Reason why not Lou, but it will take a lot of tiles. Once the tile are on your disk, you are golden. I don't know how SonarTRX works, but if you can easily cut your sections into, say, 200m runs then that will probably reduce the amount of wasted tile generation.

Good Morning Matt;

Got all the runs in RM and went to bed last night. The tile counter in RM totaled 171,971 tiles. As this was my first side-imaging project, I got too much overlap on a few runs. Figured I could drop off the overlap channel in GE, change the name, and swap it out in RM. It would look better with a few thin gaps than the dark overlaps that are hard to see through.

I will keep editing it and post when finished. Thanks for your help.
