Cool, but why you don't use the ready interpolated datas from the Norwegian government (free downloadable shape files)?
You can directly load this shapefiles into RM, mostly possible in a size of a complete norwegian county (eg Hordaland).

With help of RM i could create a complete norwegian sea chart.
If you also use topo elements, you can beautify your chart.

Well fjordfisher, this is exactly what I've done. But the ready interpolated models comes in a 50m grid and these models are not very accurate along the coastlines. So I have combined these models with the datasets containing raw "ungraded" data that also contains other information such as underground shallow areas, reefs, boat ramps, shorelines/land areaas etc. I have combined data from several different sources so that I get the best possible results based on freely available data. All data have been processed in Reefmaster, but I have used FME, AutoCAD and ArcGIS for preparation, clipping and supplementing the data when needed.

Yes, I have the data for the entire Norwegian coast and can continue building my maps based on that if I want to. The reason for dividing into smaller areas is because using the data without clipping it would cause Reefmaster to not being able to triangulate these large areas, I have tried. :)

I believe, that you missunderstand me. The datas you mean are the 50 m grid datas. With 50 m distanz between data points you can't get correct results in norwegian waters, in the much flatter baltic sea is this also only limitid possible.

But i mean the ready shape files (with 5m, 10m, 20m, 30m, 40m, 50m, 100m, 150m ... lines/areas/deep points, flood aeras etc.). This is about the same material, as for the Navionics/Garmin... charts und i believe, this is good material for an overview/fishing spots. The job for me is create new overlay maps with my own datas, but as background i only use the official datas.

Yes, these are the data that I have used. But in most areas on the east and southern coast of Norway the distance between points are often more than 50m. apart and cover mostly the near coast areas. Thats why I use the 50m grid data as supplement to my other data. I do not agree that 50 grid is to coarse to be able to represent the sea bottom in Norway, at least not for my use witch is to reveal areas with high slope for fisfhing. If you are referring to the ready shapefiles with contur lines, these are based on old data from 2011 with 300, 600 and 1000m grid so these are completely useless. :)

No sir, you are using the correct data, same as I. But you germans tend to fish on the west and northwestern coast of Norway, and the mapping of the seabed is much better there than on the east and southern coast. If you go some NM from the coast you even have access to the 10m grid dtm models that are done (i guess because of the oildrilling in the North Sea) and also the data from the Mareano project. Unfortunately I only fish in the Oslofjord and Skagerrak. :)
