With pH 0.5 did you have to carry water to rinse the boat off before it touched anything? That acidity is enough to eat through most clothes, bags, etc!

Can I ask... what type/size battery did you use and how long was the survey time?

Yes the boat had to be rinsed before transport. Luckily there was a small stream running into the crater where we could do a first rinsing. Later back at the hotel we used tap water to do a beter cleaning. And than quickly to the airport because I had to take my flight back to Europe. The bag smelled awful of sulfur but luckily the customs let me through :-)

I used two 3s 5000 mAh Lipo batteries in parallel. This is good for about a 3 hours run. The survey itself was shorter and took 45 minutes. So no problems there.

Sorry to keep being a pain.... but I'm trying to build something not totally dissimilar, but using a boogie board as the base and starting with heavier 12V SLA batteries. Also looking at twin air props and differential steering.

You mentioned a 350W motor and I see from the video you had it drawing circa 3Amps @ 3km/h... are you able to advise specifically what motor that was or its specs such a diameter, kV, max amp/watt draw, etc?

At 770Kv, 350W, 20A, its pretty damn close to the motor I was thinking to use, which is 700Kv, 340W, 23A. Looks like the W/Amp ratio is better on yours, suggesting its slightly more efficient. Its almost 3x the cost also.

My plan is to run a pair of motors and 12x3.8 SF props (i.e. differential steering) on a slightly larger but planing/skimming platform (105cm boogie board), so might need to run closer to 20,000mAh to get a similar runtime. I'm using the Hook4 also, but may also be adding a water quality meter (more weight).
