Go Offline	I could browse “.sl2” sonar data which duration was over 24h on ReefMaster (Ver. 1.8.35), but I couldn’t browse long “.slg” data over 24h on the same environment. Does ReefMaster have a function to deal with long duration “.slg” files, or is there any plan to add such function? I would like to browse files of maximum a week length.

Matt Offline	ReefMaster doesn't treat long sonar files any differently to short ones, but I can well imagine that there may be a number of issues with files as long as yours. Certainly, we've never tested anything of that length - we would consider 3-4 hours as "long". Can I ask what the file-size is for these 24 hour files?

Thank you for replying my inquiry. Maximum size of our files is approx. 2GB. (The upper limit of file size seems to be limited to 2GB by file system of Lowrance HDS.) As an example, when data size per soundings is 800B / ping, recording duration of 2GB “.slg” file is approx. 128h and total number of pings are 2,465,062. In the case of same size “.sl2”, when 800B / ping, duration is 46h, total pings are 758,113.

Go Offline	We are using HDS on fixed raft to observe behavior of farmed fish. It is powered by solar cells, no need to fuel.

Matt Offline	That's an interesting use of sonar! Unfortunately I think there are always going to be issues with very large files, and I'm surprised actually that you are even able to record a full week's worth. It would be nice if there was some way to automatically record new files every n hours, but I don't know of any way to do this - and from the sound of the setup this would be hard to do manually.

Go Offline	I also think for long time-span observation it is best way that automatic file generation by appropriate file size, but there isn’t such function on HDS. I hope long duration browsing will be realized on ReefMaster in near future improvement. Thank you.

There is. At least on Simrad NSS Evo2. It will stop and restart about once every hour. I guess HDS Gen 3 has this as well, but I have not tried it myself.
