I wanted to know which interpolation algorithm is used by the Reefmaster Software for interpolating between the recorded spots of a depth-logger when creating the elevation-map.

Hi Stefan,
We use TIN (Triangulated Irregular Network). The data points are triangulated and values between data points are interpolated using the slope of the connecting triangles. Values are then gridded and some Gaussian smoothing is applied, which can be varied by the user.
We are investigating the use of Kriging for bottom composition interpolation.
