It isn't listed on the Elite 7 HDI update notes.
It is listed on the Elite 5 HDI update notes - "Improved recording of sonar logs"

If it was broken in the Elite 7, it should have been fixed, as well, since the updates came out at the same time.

in the german Reefmaster Forum (Tecklefever.de) there is a user with newer log (from 15.02.2014) and v3.0. The result from a european lake is lie in the indic ocean!

That shows, that the problem is possibly not yet solved, or Matt mus change anything in the programm, since Elite v3.0. Can You help?

The problem that I am aware of with Elite 7 logs is that some firmware versions reverse the latitude and longitude, which could give the results this user is seeing.
He needs to switch the "using Elite 7" option in the GPS equipment profile; if it is currently set, it should be un-set and vice versa. This option simply swaps lat/lon, so if the problem is there, it fixes it, but if the problem is not there, it will give the wrong results. We can't tell from the log.
